Product Features
【P.P.】MOBY-7 ST features the innovative 7-PLY ProLayer Progressive Gradient Structure design, constructed with seven plies of Japanese Kiso Hinoki. The thicker upper surface layer provides superior ball retention and spin, while the six lower gradient plies balance backhand speed and stability, making it an advanced pure wood blade specifically developed for modern two-sided loop drive technique.
The forehand features a 1.5 mm thick surface layer design that increases ball grip and spin on aggressive loop drives. The backhand utilizes a thinner gradient structure to enhance stroke speed and the feel of backhand flip, quick loop, and quick push shots, allowing a single paddle to exhibit different striking characteristics on both sides.
The unique soft elasticity of Japanese Kiso Hinoki, combined with the ProLayer gradient layer design, balances speed, spin, and stability. You don't need different performance rubbers on both sides to achieve distinct forehand and backhand striking effects.
7-PLY ProLayer Progressive Gradient Structure
ProLayer (Progressive Layering) employs seven-ply gradient thickness configuration where the front section increases ball retention time and spin efficiency, while the rear section enhances striking support and backhand speed, allowing both forehand and backhand to achieve optimal performance. This is a next-generation pure wood structure that meets the demands of modern top players' two-sided loop drive technique.
Master Xu's Test Recommendation
Master Xu recommends pairing the forehand with YASAKA RAKZA 7, and the backhand with YASAKA RAKZA 7 SOFT, to fully showcase the performance characteristics of the different thick and thin plies of the seven-ply Japanese Kiso Hinoki.
Pairing the thick forehand layer with 45~50 degree rubber can demonstrate the destructive power of high-speed aggressive loop drives. The thinner backhand layer paired with approximately 37~42 degree softer rubber can produce high-speed spin and descending arc trajectories. General players using YASAKA RAKZA 7 SOFT or medium-high hardness sticky rubbers on both sides can also achieve very stable two-sided loop drive attack effects.
