【P.P.】APOLLO FL adopts a three-ply structure combining Japanese Kiso Hinoki with American Hard Hinoki as the core, perfected after Coach Tony's extensive testing of different blade materials, thicknesses, and hardness configurations. It integrates the soft ball-catching feel of Japanese Kiso Hinoki with the high elasticity and high-speed rebound performance of American Hard Hinoki, achieving an excellent balance of speed, spin, and control.

The blade features cross-grain reinforced structure, effectively addressing the propensity of single-ply Hinoki to crack while retaining Hinoki's clean and crisp striking feel. Close-to-net fast attacks and loop drive strokes are fast, fierce, and accurate—a high-performance handcrafted Hinoki paddle balancing speed, spin, and durability.

Striking Characteristics

This blade has excellent elasticity, with loop drive strokes featuring low trajectory arcs and fast speed. The American Hard Hinoki core provides ample support, while the Japanese Kiso Hinoki facing enhances ball retention time and spin capability, making both forehand and backhand attacks highly stable and destructive.

Heavier weight favors speed-oriented play; medium weight balances speed and spin; lighter weight makes it easier to demonstrate spin and fine control—choose freely according to your playing style.

Coach Tony's Test Impressions

Test Configuration: Forehand 729 BATTLE II (45°) / Backhand Hurricane 3-50 (35°). Upon first trial, it demonstrated excellent speed and rebound power, quickly mastering the feel after brief adjustment. When pulling with the forehand, the ball is clearly gripped, with stronger spin and faster attacking speed; after side-spin serving, the ball takes a large curved trajectory off the table, effectively increasing opponent's error rate. Backhand pushing and defensive stability also improved simultaneously—a high-performance offensive paddle combining speed, spin, and control.

Recommended Rubber Pairing

It is recommended to pair with moderately soft 2.0～2.1mm sponge to balance spin and control; apart from professional players, pairing with overly hard sponge is not recommended.
